Cem joined Charterhouse in October 2014 as an accounts semi senior, where he qualified as an ACCA member in 2016. Cem has since excelled in his career to become a client manager where he was responsible for managing his own portfolio of clients, to now becoming the department manager where he is responsible for delivering the audit accounts work for the entire organisation and managing the department.
Cem played amateur football in the Cypriot KOPA league as a goalkeeper and was part of the title winning side in 2015. Cem is a dedicated Tottenham season ticket holder. He loves travelling, and has visited many countries worldwide. His current favourite destination is Las Vegas.
Poonam moved to the U.K. after getting married in 2004 and obtained the A.C.C.A. qualifications after starting a family. Poonam has been with Charterhouse since 2015 as a Semi Senior Accountant and has progressed to a Client Manager. She is responsible for managing a portfolio of clients and managing staff.
Poonam enjoys singing, dancing, reading and cooking. Outside of work, Poonam enjoys being a mum. Spends her time with the family, friends and attends community events. Poonam can fluently speak 4 languages.
David joined the Charterhouse team in November 1982 and went on to become director in November 1992. David is based in the Beaconsfield office where he has been responsible for running this office and developing its client base. He has been the director responsible for outsourcing, helping to set up and support offices in India, Pakistan and Dubai. David enjoys networking and winning new business and is on the Barclays Bank panel of approved providers for accountancy and taxation.
David is a keen sportsman in his spare time so ask him about his golfing exploits to raise over £30,000 for charity, getting his underwater diving licence at 50, and organising a hockey tour to Holland.
Micky is the founder director of the practice. His particular expertise is commerce and industry with specialist knowledge in franchising. Micky was financial director of a national franchise company and was instrumental in its listing for the London Stock Exchange. Micky enjoys advising on start-up businesses and encouraging their growth. He has retained numerous clients for more than thirty years and in some cases chartered their start to eventual sale.

Barrie qualified with a firm in Yorkshire before joining the Charterhouse team in 1998. He was made director in May 2012 and as well as running his own portfolio of clients is primarily responsible for the accounts and audit function within the firm. Barrie also works closely with all the directors on corporate finance assignments such as due diligence and valuation work for clients.
Barrie would like to own a racehorse at some point in his life so if you’re a fan of the turf; this is a good subject to start with when you met him. He also follows Leeds United and Yorkshire CCC and is a demon at team quiz nights.
Howard joined Charterhouse in December 2000 and is responsible for the development of the business. He has an extensive professional background as a Chartered Accountant, Chartered Tax Adviser, Trust and Estate Practitioner and a Statutory Auditor regulated by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW).
Howard has spearheaded a number of initiatives at Charterhouse following qualification as a member of STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) including the expansion of the private client service to cover advising on trusts, estate and Inheritance Tax planning, wills and Lasting Power of Attorney. As a result of his endeavours we are now licensed by the ICAEW to carry out the reserved legal activity of non-contentious probate in England and Wales.
Howard’s commercial client portfolio includes business start-ups through to owners looking to extract value as well as growing enterprises looking for inward investment and business restructuring.
Sports and volunteering are two subjects close to Howard’s heart outside of the office. He has run in three London and one Edinburgh marathons (and raised over £1,500 for charity in the process) and is aiming for his third belt in karate. He has also worked as a volunteer with individuals with mental health conditions and was recognised for this as Young Jewish Volunteer of the Year.
Raj Jiwani joined Charterhouse in 2006 and is a Chartered Tax Advisor with a wide range of experience spanning corporate tax and personal tax planning. Raj is now in charge of the tax department and provides advice to a varied portfolio of clients including owner managers, high income earners, businesses with turnovers in excess of £100m and trusts with values in excess of £1m.
When you meet Raj, be sure to ask him about his trip to Peru; his backstage experiences and the family charities he supports in Kenya.
Rut was born in Iceland and has an MA in International Human Resource Management and Employment Relations. After her BSc in Business Administration she worked for 3 years in a pharmaceutical company in Iceland. Rut joined Charterhouse in 2012 but at the end of 2016 she left the company to go travelling around the world and then returned in August 2017 after having visited 15 countries within South America, South East Asia and New Zealand.
Having worked her way up from being an HR Assistant to now being Charterhouse’s HR Manager Rut is responsible for the Internal HR matters of the business.
Rut has a keen interest in sports and her focus is currently on yoga. She can now combine her interest in travelling with sports as she followed Iceland’s national team in football to the Euro’s in 2016 and is planning on going to go to Russia for the World Cup 2018.
Javed joined Charterhouse in 1999. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and member of the tax faculty. Javed has over 35 years’ experience in dealing with all aspects of direct taxation including taxation structure, UK and overseas planning and corporate and personal tax. Javed deals with HMRC at the highest levels and specialises in investigations, negotiations and litigations.

Chris joined as a senior, ran the audit department for a while and is now an associated director. He is primarily based in our Harrow office but assists David White in running the Beaconsfield office twice a week.
Chris has his own portfolio of clients but also looks after some of the larger clients for the other directors. He gets involved in valuation as well as due diligence work and has in the past visited Moscow to carry out due diligence work for an oil company.
Chris loves golf but does not play as much as he would like to because of family commitments. He did however win the very first Charterhouse sponsored Golf Day and also, as a part of a team, won the Charity Golf day this year. Chris is keen on Quizzes and usually forms part of a Charterhouse team with Barrie Cross. He organises an annual Charterhouse Quiz where he sets all the questions.
Julie joined Charterhouse in 1985 and after a break of 2 years rejoined in 1990 making her the longest serving staff member.
She has a passion for travel, be it in the UK or Worldwide, and although there are too many highlights to mention, the most memorable were standing at the edge of Lake Tekapo in New Zealand, watching the Milky Way travel overhead and standing at the edge of the live Masaya Volcano in Nicaragua.
June joined Charterhouse in November 2001 as Office Admin Manager. She looks after the admin and office facilities for both offices and also administers the client database. June was previously Fleet and Office Manager for a High Security Company.
June loves knitting and knits for a charity called Cherished Gowns for Angel Babies which supplies hospitals with tiny clothing for still born babies.
Phil joined Charterhouse in 2014 and has a wide range of experience in advising owner managed businesses and individuals. Phil works closely with Raj in the running of the tax department and provides advice to a wide variety of clients, particularly on how their businesses or investments are structured.
Phil enjoys travelling and visiting new cities and often buys his plane ticket on arrival at the airport. He is also interested in writing and has previously made contributions to a local business paper.
Robert is an accounts manager and looked after the department at the Beaconsfield office which was purchased by Charterhouse in 2005.
Robert has his own portfolio of clients and assists the other members of his team with any accounting, tax and VAT matters when required.
Robert still plays football and is treasurer for the team that he helped set up over 25 years ago, albeit at a more leisurely pace nowadays.
Claudia has over 10 years experience in professional HR both internally at Charterhouse and as an HR Consultant for a number of clients from varying industries. She also has experience running her own business and works professionally with a commercial edge. Claudia was appointed HR Director of Charterhouse in 2017 as part of the firm’s corporate vision to further growth and success over the coming years. During this time Claudia’s role will be to set the Strategic HR Policy and to drive success from the top, enabling each and every member of the organisation to reach great heights.
In her spare time Claudia enjoys sports, particularly running and tennis, food nutrition and going to the theatre.
As Charterhouse’s client manager Necla is responsible for staff management and managing client affairs.
Necla speaks two languages and enjoys reading, swimming, running and travelling. Completing a half marathon and traveling around the world not to mention learning a third language are some of the items on her bucket list.
One accomplishment outside work she is most proud of was time spent working as a qualified nurse while at the same time completing her Economics Bachelor’s degree. She experienced working as an open-heart surgery post-op nurse for 3 years which provided a feeling of accomplishment and making a real difference in people’s lives.
Nirav joined Charterhouse in Jan 2007 as a Semi Senior having qualified as an ACCA in May 2002. He recently became Directors’ Assistant and is mainly based in the Harrow office.
Nirav managed the audit and accounts department for a while and has his own portfolio of clients. His responsibilities include review of audit work, gets involved in due diligence work and practice assurance work.
Nirav loves playing and watching football, cricket and volleyball. He played volleyball back in his school days and has taken part in club competitions.
He enjoys watching any sports, movies, dancing and singing Bollywood songs. He also loves Maths and Geography.
Nirav speaks Gujarati, English, Hindi and some Arabic.
Shajul joined Charterhouse in January 2016 as a client manager responsible for managing a portfolio of clients with account and audit compliance. In a previous role he has experience of managing owner managed business and outsourcing. He became a member of ACCA in 2011.
In his spare time he plays badminton and table tennis and has also been a part of organising table tennis tournaments. He regularly takes part in various charity walks.
Elaine Lynch works as the Payroll Manager and obtained her CIPP qualification while working at International Law firm Allen & Overy. Her career in payroll spans more than 25 years, and she is still very much passionate about payroll.
Elaine has previously worked within large public and private sector organisations and has been actively involved in simple and complex integration projects involving payroll, HR and Finance.
In her role at Charterhouse she offers a flexible payroll service for companies needing to pay employees, whether that be one employee to a large number of employees.
Outside of work Elaine's time and interests span family, friends and local community activities.
Her claim to fame is that as a teenager she seriously considered athletics, and trained regularly at the same North London track as Steve Ovett, Daley Thompson, and Lord Coe aka Seb!
Jigna was born in Kenya and moved to the UK to study Accounting & Finance at Nottingham Trent University. Jigna joined the Charterhouse tax team in 2012 after qualifying as a Chartered Tax Advisor prior to working in an accounting practice in Central London for almost 8 years. Jigna manages the tax compliance team and is also involved in advisory and tax planning aspects at Charterhouse.
Outside of work, Jigna spends her time baking and enjoys going for Zumba classes. Jigna enjoys travelling the world and is a great scuba diver and has swam with Black tip sharks and Stingrays during her recent trip to Bora Bora and Fiji.
Jigna can fluently speak 4 languages.
Monica joined the audit and accounts team at Charterhouse in 2015 as a Semi Senior. Since joining she has gained a lot of experience very quickly and this has been acknowledged by a recent promotion to a Client Manager. She now manages her own portfolio of clients as well as being responsible for managing the development of upcoming Semi Seniors. She is currently studying towards her accountancy professional qualifications with the ACCA and is at the final stages of her exams.
In the age of technology and endless innovation in IT and software packages, her aim is to help the practice and her clients move into the future, by looking at all aspects of accounting including cloud based platforms to stimulate growth, to open up new opportunities and to evolve the accounting process to make it as efficient as possible. To this end she has made sure to keep up to date with all aspects of audit and accountancy and has recently become a certified Xero Advisor.
When Monica isn’t working and studying she enjoys spending time with her nearest and dearest! She also appreciates art and has a particular passion for sketching (her version of Yoga), her proudest sketch: Mahatma Gandhi.

He can speak 3 languages and, back in the day, used to be quite competitive at tennis and swimming – he competed in various competitions and tournaments. Nowadays he is a keen cyclist and one day wishes to enter the London to Brighton charity cycle ride.
