Tax Senior – Tax Department

We are looking for a Tax Senior in our Tax department, to join a motivated, friendly and diverse team who provide a high quality service to a varied portfolio of clients. You will have knowledge and experience in Income Tax, Capital Gain tax and Corporation Tax. The role split is 60% Personal Tax and 40% Corporate Tax.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and when agreed, implementing a delivery plan for own portfolio of clients
  • Delivering clients’ compliance work within own portfolio
  • Authorising CT, SA Tax returns and P11Ds to be sent to clients
  • Delivering project work
  • Finalising HMRC enquiries
  • Recommending tax planning opportunities and when agreed, implementing them
  • Providing tax advice and support to client directors in their pre and post-sales roles
  • Assisting with delivery on tribunal and/or ADR matters

Essentials Skills and Experience:

  • ATT/ACCA/CTA qualified
  • Income Tax, Capital Gain Tax, Corporation Tax
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office especially Word and Excel
  • Experience in working in a Chartered Accountancy Practice
  • Good organisational skills
  • Problem solving approach
  • Excellent written and oral communication and client service skills
  • Excellent commercial awareness

Desirable skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of CCH Tax software and CCH Practice Managements
  • Knowledge of accounts
  • Knowledge of Xero
  • People management experience or training & developing junior staff
  • Trust Tax including preparation of Trust and Estate Returns, Value Added Tax and Inheritance Tax
